Hamwen3839 Posted April 12, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2022 Does anyone know if you need a Turkish E Visa if you are alighting a ship In Istanbul but going straight to airport for international flight?
blag Posted April 12, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2022 (edited) The strictly correct answer to your question is 'Yes, someone does' However, I believe that the need for a Turkish visa may be determined by your nationality/passport. You have not stated your nationality. AFAIK, British passport holders (for example) do not need a visa for a visit such as that which you have described. I suggest that you search online for 'Transit Visa Turkey'. Edited April 12, 2022 by blag typo
Hamwen3839 Posted April 12, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted April 12, 2022 Thank you. We are Australian Citizens.I don’t think we are on the “No visa required “list but for our situation it is a little unclear.

It seems to me that, if there is uncertainty, and in the absence of definitive information, since the cost of an è-visa is (compared to the cost of your cruise and flights) very low, you might as well bite the bullet and apply for one. IWantToLiveOverTheSea Posted April 28, 2022 #5 Share Posted April 28, 2022 I'm going to Turkey early to embark on a cruise after spending a few days in Istanbul. I definitely need one, and have been struggling to get one! The website (evisa.gov.tr, I believe) is not the best. If the program hangs and you're not sure if you were charged, check your credit card transactions. And go back into the site with the reference number you (hopefully) got earlier to look for status. And if you need help, there are instructions on the site, plus their customer assistance is actually pretty good. I would not, however, wait until the last minute if you do need one. I think it's $51.50.
java spot Posted April 28, 2022 #6 Share Posted April 28, 2022 I just applied for mine. Citibank wanted verification that I had made the transaction, so I had to go through the payment process twice. Otherwise, no uissues. Thanks for the nudge.
audobon_tx Posted May 1, 2022 #7 Share Posted May 1, 2022 On Pursuit now. Segment ends in Istanbul. E-Visas required for USA, Canada, Australia, Mexico per announcement today. I think the requirement is actually for all non-Schengen citizens.
IWantToLiveOverTheSea Posted May 1, 2022 #8 Share Posted May 1, 2022 If anyone has trouble getting in, and getting things to go smoothly in obtaining their Turkish visa, I can tell you that I had NO trouble using the site this morning - at 5:30 AM EST! I guess not too many Turkey visitors were trying to use the site.
