Hotels and transfers in Dublin.

We’re arriving in Dublin one day pre cruise. We’ve seen most of the attractions so we want a place to stay, possibly close to cruise port and then recommendations for transfers from airport on arrival and transfer to cruise port. All suggestions welcome. If there is nothing by the cruise port it would be nice to be in an area for shopping or wandering around

Is the port Dublin or Dun Laoghaire?  Which ship and which date?

Date is July 25 on Azamara Quest. I don’t know the port. How can I find out.

The reason I asked is because Dublin port has limited the number of cruise liners docking in Dublin however Azamara Quest is listed July 24/25th at Berth 18 in Dublin port.

This is quite accessible by foot if you have little luggage and there are a couple of hotels close by such as - The Gibson, The Marker, The Mayson.

The Gibson is at the end of the Luas (Tram) line for access to Dublin centre.

You could also use the tram line to access the dock from any hotel located along the banks of river Lifffey.

 

Dublin port details of berth 18:

Berth 18 – North Quay Extension

Cruise ships will also dock at Berth 18 located on North Quay Extension, in front of the Thomas Clarke Bridge.  Passengers will disembark/board at North Quay Extension and are permitted to exit the Port on foot via the blue gates on East Wall Road.  The nearest Luas Red Line Tram stop is located at the Point village, approximately a 9 min walk (750m).
