Muster drill post COVID

Recommended Posts

With the new way of doing the muster drill. On your state room TV or the Royal app . Do they still sound the emergency signal ship wide like they used to do at the beginning of the old style muster drill . I’m on a cruise on Radiance next week and have sensitive hearing so would like to know if it is used still and how long before departure they will set it off If they still sound it

They do sound the alarm still, yes.  They do also give you an overhead announcement when it is going to happen so you can be prepared.  As far as a time, I'd guess 1/2 hour before departure but again, it's a guess.  Could have been 45 minutes.  Happy Sailings!

They still make the mandatory announcements and sound the emergency signal at the same time they used to (times vary by departure time). The only difference is that you don't have to go to your muster station,,, because you have already been there as soon as you embark.

We had to go to our muster station to verify that we had viewed the drill on the app.  Also so that you can demonstrate that you know where to go.
