george35 Posted May 1, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2022 We used to like going to the WIPEOUT for breakfast but I hear it is gone, is that true? What took its place? george35
george35 Posted May 1, 2022 Author #2 Share Posted May 1, 2022 I was asking how soon before a cruise should you redeem you credit card points? george35

Levi is good Posted May 1, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2022 It took 3 days for them to show up on my balance, using them for cruise discounts. But I'd say asap just to head off any problems.
GStanMus Posted May 2, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2022 If you want to use the OBC to book on the cruise planner, redeem it early. It took 3 days for my credit to post to my cruise planner.

We wanted to use them for excursions - so we redeemed really early. Some excursions do sell out, especially if you are going to a location that is restricting cruise passengers to the excursions only purchased from the cruise line. But - then I redeemed some a month in advance of the cruise to pay for onboard costs. I started to get worried and called, and they said that they would be there within the week before going - and they were. I understand because of Covid, you never know if the cruise is going to get cancelled, and then I have no idea what happens to the redemption - so I'd be cautious. Just make sure you write down that confirmation number so when you call to check, you have it ready. Happy sailing!
Mango Tango Posted May 3, 2022 #7 Share Posted May 3, 2022 What if you redeem the points for OBC and you test positive for COVID 2 days before embarkation and can't get on the ship? Do you get the credit back?

Do you get the credit back? Yes, depending on timing they'll be "reserved" and you can apply them to a future cruise. Don't think you can get them back in cash, but didn't try.
