MomTo2InVA Posted May 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2022 How far in advance of your cruise are you offered to bid for an upgrade?
Rare sid_9169 Posted May 3, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2022 I'm less than a month out, and I received one about a month ago, and then again yesterday... I'm only staying in the smallest cabin on the entire ship (Solo Insider), and it was a decent rate for a balcony, but I'm happy with where I am... I’m also in a solo insider - what was the bid for a balcony?

WIBadgerFan Posted May 3, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 3, 2022 Wow, that looks very similar to the booking price difference for each.
Rare cantgetin Posted May 6, 2022 #6 Share Posted May 6, 2022 (edited) At this point, I wouldn't bother bidding. When you board, go to sailor services and ask what it would cost to upgrade at that point--or ask if you can get a free upgrade and if they say no, what it would cost. The ships are sailing at 25-30% capacity right now and they have been reported to allow at least some free upgrades! The logic is that if they get you hooked on a Sea Terrace, you'll never want to go back to an inside! Edited May 6, 2022 by cantgetin

Yes, I booked for the May 18th sailing this week and laughed when I received the upgrade email which had "offers" that were actually slightly higher than the original booking prices.
