Viking South of France River Cruise

Hello, we are booked for April 2023 for Viking's South of France river cruise.  I'm thinking of booking their pre cruise extension in Paris which is 3 night.  My question is will they extend it to 5 nights if we pay more? Will they still pick you up at the airport or are you on your own.

You can always just book your own extension at the same hotel…it’ll probably be less expensive.  Have you checked the rate?  Even better, book a hotel in another area of Paris.. so easy to cab or Uber between hotels.

It's true that if you book hotel through Viking then you will get transfers, a Viking rep at the hotel and a Paris city tour, but I've always found that the extensions are very expensive and you could book a comparable hotel for a considerable amount less, more than enough to pay for a city tour and transfers and have money over. 

 

It's easy now with the web to check hotel prices, and maybe you have points wil one of the chains that you can use.

 

When they offered* me an extension I almost went for it then found out the price they quoted, instead of being for two was each!

 

OTOH - you can pay to have a stress less break and let Viking do it all.
