When are excursions paid?

Recommended Posts

Well, the majority of excursions are "free" as in included.  There are Regent Choice excursions which carry a surcharge (the way I think of it).  Any booked before boarding must be paid for at that time to secure the reservation.  They can be canceled up until a few days (2ish) before the excursion either on-board if it isn't one of the first cruise days or by phone to Regent if before boarding (they are supposedly working on a way to cancel them on-line, but for now you have to call).

For the excursions which cost extra, any on-board credits which are shown in your Regent web account will be automatically applied.  If you end up with additional on-board credits (like from your TA) which aren't shown until you board, you can go to the excursion desk and ask that they be applied retroactively to excursions where you paid new money when booking them.  This used to be a bit of a deal with a cancellation/rebooking if not wait-list process, but a few years ago they just streamlined the process and the new OBCs are just applied and any earlier payments are refunded to your original form of payment.  As I recall, they don't even reprint the tickets since nothing on them changes with this transaction.
