NCL Air to Europe

With international flights, the policy varies.  NCL doesn't pay for luggage but unless things have changed recently, the major carriers usually include 1 checked bag for international flights to Europe.

The only one I see a variance on among the major US carriers is United, which says it charges $75 for the first bag in "basic economy,"  Of course, if you can manage an upgrade (especially if you use their branded credit card to pay for it), that would go away.

American and Delta say the first bag is free to Europe.

NCL Air had us on United to Europe with one bag per.  Royal Air Maroc on the return was the same.  Weight allowance is 50 lbs per and includes the usual one bag in the cabin per as well.

we upgraded the United flight to Polaris class.  That comes with 2 bags per and 70 lbs a bag.

How soon are y’all getting your flight information? We should fly out on 7/7 and don’t have any information yet. Our cruise is out of Barcelona and trying to come up with a loose plan of what we could do that day (we arrive 2 days before we leave on the ship).

edit: disregard. I see the separate thread

Spain day tours have 4 hour tours that pick you up at the port & drop you off at the airport

We requested a +2 day deviation pre-cruise, flying from EWR to BCN.

Our reservation has been updated accordingly showing Friday as the first day for a Sunday embarkation.

Looking for some past EWR/JFK or East Coast flyers with a 2 day deviation:

Since almost all transatlantic flights seem to be overnight and arriving the following morning, do we fly Thursday night and arrive Friday morning, or fly Friday night and arrive Saturday morning?

We are on the 7/10 Barcelona cruise with the 2 extra days and that is when we leave / arrive (coming from Texas).

We’ll see all y’all on the ship

What experiences has everyone had recently with NCL air to Europe?

Our party of 12 (10 with air through NCL) will be flying out next Sunday.  One group is flying from Phoenix to Stockholm.  They routed us through LAX, but that's not unexpected and it's a short detour. We have a long layover, though.   Our return flight originates in Copenhagen, connects in Amsterdam, and connects again at JFK.   We should be home around 9:30 PM.

We have a group leaving from VA, and they are flying out of Baltimore - the furthest of the three airports in the DC area.  ☹️  They only have two legs each way.  Their return flight detours all the way through Chicago, and they don't get home until 11:30 PM.  On the upside, though, they have "premium" seats on that flight from Copenhagen to Chicago.  😄

We are deviating two days on our cruise from Athens.  We leave on 7/28 from Boston.  Flying ITA on the way there.  We stop in Rome and then onto Athens.  Our flight home is nonstop on Delta.  Delta our seats are free.  ITA we paid for seats.  We got our flights at about 55 days out.

Im thinking of doing 2 day deviation into Amsterdam. How does that affect testing? Is it 3 days before you leave or 3 days before embark?

It's required by the cruise line, so I think it's 3 days before you board.  My cruise overnights in Stockholm so we don't sail until the day after we board.  Our cruise consultant told us we could test as early as Friday for a Monday check-in and Tuesday sailing.  We're doing ours on Saturday before we fly out.  Two members of our group are leaving a few days earlier, so they'd take their tests using the internet at their hotel.  We're all doing the eMed tests - proctored online.
