US to end predeparture covid testing requirement (flights) - maybe cruises next?

Recommended Posts

Viking removing the test requirement but keeping the vaccine requirement for ocean and river cruises outside the US and Canada likely gives a hint of what other cruise lines will do with Med sailings soon. And CLIA asking the CDC to reconsider testing suggests major cruise lines are not interested in testing unless required.

And those tests were essentially pointless anyway, because there were many reports of people testing positive immediately after the cruise, so covid got on board despite them, whether at the outset or over the course of the cruise.

"Some people who tested negative got covid on board, so they should allow people who test positive on the ship because it can't make any difference."

"I think it makes perfect sense."
