  1. That’s all I got and it was honored on our cruise last week.
  2. Explorer has 6 weeks open in Fall ‘25. Perhaps she will finally get the rest of her Amplification.
  3. Agreed. Given the threat this poses to supply chains (and how toxic such issues are post-pandemic), cargo will likely be the priority and cruise ships will just need to figure things out on their own.
  4. That is patently false. Show me the perfume-induced emphysema or lung cancer patients. 80% of lung cancer related deaths are thought to be caused by smoking.
  5. No, but we were interested in the Race excursion there and just booked it on Viator this evening.
  6. Better than nothing and if you don’t want both days, treat one as a sea day and get off the ship on the day with better weather.
  7. At least it has a government in place.
  8. Oasis of the Seas April 7 will skip Labadee April 9 and instead go to St. Maarten April 10. I’m ecstatic!
  9. It’s been having thruster work done by divers recently. I presume they need this fixed before leaving for Europe and they have time to delay a bit and still make it to Nassau on the current itinerary.
  10. No. I wish they’d cancel further out. There’s no hope of imminent improvement in the situation.
  11. I think it’s a reasonable replacement for Labadee and I’d certainly take it over Nassau…
  12. You’re having a sea day instead of Labadee. This was announced yesterday.
  13. I doubt Royal cares deeply about British passengers’ trip insurance. That insurance hasn’t covered Haiti for some time now. I suspect it is Royal’s own insurers in this case. It’s their private “island” so there is enhanced liability there.
  14. To be fair, you were talking about trip insurance. Royal was likely told by ITS OWN insurers that these calls aren’t worth the risk. These are the same people as the ones who might say “paint that edge yellow so people don’t trip and fall off the ship.” They look for worst-case scenarios. US trip insurance still covers people who were in Labadee yesterday.
  15. If a replacement port is to be scheduled, it would be nice to give passengers enough early notification to actually book excursions before they are sold out. If you tell passengers 3 days out that they are going to Nassau, for example, the desirable excursions will be unavailable.
  16. I wasn’t one who said they’d NEVER do this but, at this point, I’d kind of just like to hear Royal’s specific moves—which ships go where, instead. I presume they are busy booking replacement ports for the next several months to silence calls for refunds.
  17. It is vital to our national security that the Dragon Fire zip line remain secure.
  18. Are you telling me they don’t offer geography lessons in Haitian prisons?!
  19. If action movies have taught me anything, zip lines are how you escape with the “treasure”. Preferably with explosions in the background.
  20. Well, if he resigned, now they can move toward their real goal—laying siege on Labadee so they can ride the zip line.
  21. DR is beautiful and safe(r). Royal should’ve built their private destination there…
  22. Considering CocoCay is several hundred miles away, that’s not a viable option. Locations in D.R. are nearby, however. Puerto Plata can accommodate 4 ships (at least) and seldom has that many. But I think Mariner already goes there with Labadee.
  23. Straw man argument there. Royal sails to any number of destinations where you would not want to go to the hospital or could not rely on medevac.
  24. I would not be surprised if Royal’s own lawyers or insurance policies said they need to remove any risk of people leaving Labadee. And obviously a boat presents that risk.
