  1. Regardless of the slide, it desperately needs a refurbishment. That’s an Icon of the Seas price level! Crazy.
  2. We need to deploy our team of staff chemists to the Wonder for a full analysis. If it’s goat cream or skim soy, they’ll know.
  3. If we didn’t mind visiting Italy during the ongoing war in Ukraine, I’m not sure Israel changes the calculus. And we felt perfectly safe in Europe. I’d only be concerned if I were literally flying into Israel.
  4. I never knew seagulls loved funnel cake until my Perfect Day.
  5. Looks like Wonder will head to Lauderdale or Miami for 3/4 nighters and Star will replace it in Canaveral.
  6. It doesn’t help (for me) that we really weren’t impressed by the Disney Wish and soon they’ll have it and its sister, Treasure, in Canaveral. I’d prefer Utopia AND it will be cheaper. Heck, there are times now where a week on Wonder OTS is cheaper than 4 nights on Wish!
  7. No one is making them offer this itinerary from Bayonne. If they can’t make the trip, don’t sell the trip.
  8. It was removed yesterday then added back. I doubt it was a mistake (how could such a mistake happen?) and they just don’t want to announce that yet.
  9. Wow. I just booked yesterday at $19/$29 and today it’s $40/$50. For the North Star, in particular, that’s steep.
  10. Sailing Christmas week and it’s $19 and $29, respectively. Guess we got lucky.
  11. We are led to believe this issue is ongoing since at least May. This suggests it needs maintenance that cannot occur with guests on board. 7 compensated cruises is equal to just canceling one. The calculus gets worse if this stretches into December. Those 12/24 and 12/31 cruises cost a lot. Losing 1/7 of their funds will be significant. I’m sure they hope everyone will live large and blow it all in the arcade but we shall see…
  12. This will get very costly for Royal. At what point do they just cancel a sailing to fix the issue? I’m sure some intern was tasked with finding which sailing over the next several months is going to make the least profit so they can cut it.
  13. Seems like reasonable compensation. You basically get a free day on a cruise ship. Better than any day at work.
  14. Royal is offering one day’s worth fare as a cruise credit to impacted cruisers and confirms 1 engine will be down for maintenance. So dude can stop yelling at us that there is “NO PROPULSION ISSUE!!!11”
  15. Exactly. If they have to cruise at 20 mph instead of 25 mph, most passengers won’t feel a difference but you aren’t getting to Canaveral in a day and a half. I do wonder—this seems to happen a lot with the 7-day itinerary. It should either be an 8-day or they should drop Canaveral altogether.
  16. That’s rather defensive. They are either cutting a port on multiple cruises because of engine issues, a desire to save fuel, or due to incompetence booking the ports. I wonder which company Royal wants to be here.
