BIG DADDY MEL Posted June 11, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2022 We will be in Costa Maya in September. Our cruise offers a "Mayan Healing Experience" as an excursion. I think its kind of pricey at a $104.00pp. Watching YouTube videos it appears there is a place in the Port area that offers the same. Has anyone done this? Any recommendations? Rare crewsweeper Posted June 15, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2022 The place in port is the same place as your ship excursion. you probably won't be able to book separate. IMO, these are a bunch of hocus pocus mumbo jumbo new age adaptations of what someone thinks the Mayans would have done. Sorta kin to many of the spa treatments on board ships claiming to heal stuff. bruzin_for_a_cruizin Posted June 15, 2022 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2022 We did this "excursion" back in November. It is quite hokey, but once you get through all the explanation stuff, the massages were quite nice, if short. I especially enjoyed the hammock massage. That said, I wouldn't do it again, nor would I give it a "must-do" recommendation.

They have always been willing to sell directly when we have passed in port. Not sure if there is room for negotiation we are always en route to somewhere else!
