sjmbruce Posted June 13, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2022 I’m trying to maximize our time in Rome and hope that spending some money will help achieve that goal. Is there a private car company that will provide round trip service from the port to/from Rome? I’d like to get picked up at the port and dropped off at the Colosseum (or the Pantheon, depending on tour times) and then end the day by getting a ride back to the port from near St. Peter’s Basilica. euro cruiser Posted June 13, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2022 There are lots of them but they are usually looking for a full day tour, what you're asking for is essential two transfers in one day. Reach out to a few and ask for quotes. You may do better by hiring two difference companies, one in the morning and another for the return. mapleleaves Posted June 13, 2022 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2022 A car/driver for the day will probably run about 450/550E. You might achieve the same goal (and save money ) by using a transfer for Civi to Rome, then use cabs to get around from point to point as you need them, and another transfer to get you back to the ship. You may find another couple on your Roll Call to share the transfer cost. Go your separate ways once you arrive but share the expense. One way or RT. sjmbruce Posted June 13, 2022 Author #5 Share Posted June 13, 2022 Thanks for the advice! I'm going to try to book two different one way transfers and see if anyone on my roll call wants to share the ride/costs.
