How many formal/cruise elegant nights on a 16 day cruise?

We're doing a 16 day Panama Canal cruise in Sept. and were wondering how many formal/cruise elegant nights there will be.  If there are 2 for a 7 day cruise will there be 4 for a 16 day cruise?  Any idea when they might be?  We have lots of sea days and only 4 ports.  Also are the MDR menus apt to repeat every 7 days or so?

I have been on many long cruises and usually three elegant nights. Sometimes there has only been two.

The longer cruises have special menus and they do not repeat.

I am looking forward to the Repositioning Cruise from Seattle. I have never been on a cruise longer than 7 days and am anxious to see how they keep us entertained on all the sea days. I believe there are three elegant nights. For me that means a dress shirt & tie.

14+ day cruises are great.  Typically a far more relaxed pace.  I teased my PVP asking if she had booked us on HAL. It's so 180 degrees different than your typical Bahamas 4 night but with the same Carnival great service and fun.
