When looking for shore excursions, sometimes the info provided is not clear.  For example, it’ll say must able to climb a few steps.  If we had a sub forum topic of people sharing their experiences on shore excursions as to whether or not you can take a scooter or electric wheelchair on the tour bus or if there is a place to leave your mobility device, we would have only one place to look.  This would be located permanently in the same location as for the disabled in Europe.  When we were on the Ovation, I had to cancel two shore excursions because both guest services and the shore excursions desk didn’t know the answers.

What cruise line are you going to be on?

 

My experience has been that the Shore Excursion desk knows very little about the accessible tours.   

 

If you check with your cruise line's accessible/access department (before you leave home), they will typically know more and they can contact the tour operator with specific questions.  Some cruise lines actually have an accessible shore excursion department and also sometimes a separate accessible shore excursion brochure.    

 

Shore excursions that use a vehicle with a lift are scare and they are sold out quickly.  

 

It would be nice to have one place to check exactly how accesible the accessible shore excursions are but the tour operators and excursions change and it seems it would be difficult to keep such a list up-to-date.

I’m usually loyal to Royal.  Even though tours and guides change, it would be so much easier if people post their experiences in one place - no different than the sub forum for touring in Europe for the disabled.
