Does RCCL offer free shuttles for Ward Cove to downtown Ketchikan?

Hey all,

 

I'm late to my cruise excursion planning, with ~45 days to go and I just noticed we have "Ward Cove" listed on the itinerary, which was not the case on my original booking paperwork (March 2021). I am actually upset about it, because my mom is low-mobility and I was planning on being close in town to do some low impact exploration and maybe a lumberjack show. Now I have to consider this additional step, which may end up being no big deal, but I don't know yet.

 

A few posts on CC show that NCL offers shuttles, does Royal do the same?

We also ported at Ward Cove and RC does offer a free shuttle into the town.

Thanks for the quick reply! Was it a smooth experience? Long lines? Do you remember where the shuttle dropped off?

Yes very smooth. You walk through a touristy building and hop on the large busses, lots of them. Drops you off by the cruise ships in town.

Sweet, that will work great then. I will just make sure not to book the earliest Lumberjack show just in case 🙂

Ward Cove is an awful dock. It's 8 miles out of "town" and you end up spending 30+ minutes waiting for buses, filling buses, and getting to town.
