The app has a chat feature which everyone needs to pay for. It is pretty poor. Actually, it is really poor. Magnetic whiteboards for your doors work better.

i like the classic yellow post it notes better then the whiteboard

iMessage works on the ship, so if everyone in your group has iPhones you really don’t need to pay for the messaging.

I have used the messaging app several times with our group and it has always worked fine. Costs $9.95 per person. Only dislike is there is no notification when a message arrives...you have to keep checking for messages.

iPhone to iPhone iMessages have always worked for me on the ship to home but were always slow...not sure how fast they would be if everyone was on the ship.
