fcccruiser Posted July 19, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2022 We have a day in Naples and would like to get to Pompeii by 9am, so were planning to take a taxi for a group on 4. We are less time constrained on returning to Naples, so were going to take the train back. Will taxis at the port do a one way trip or are they just looking for round trips? How much should I expect to pay for the one way taxi? Thanks
CruiserBruce Posted July 19, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2022 Taxis will definitely do a one way trip, but many will be pretty crowded for 4. Not impossible...but crowded.
fcccruiser Posted July 19, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted July 19, 2022 Thanks. Two of the four are kids, which will hopefully make it more feasible.
euro cruiser Posted July 20, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2022 You will pay the same amount as a round trip, because for the driver it is a round trip. They are unable to pick up a fare in Pompei so you will pay to get them back to Naples. The fixed fare for a round trip Naples-Pompei with a two hour wait at the ruins is 100 euro. You won't be paying for the waiting time but I'd still expect to pay between 60 - 70 euro for the one way trip.
carlmm Posted July 20, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2022 Actually I have used a taxi from the ruins to the port because we missed both train and bus 😆 There was a taxi stand with taxis waiting. If I remember right it was like € 60.
