Amber Cove, Puerto Plata

I have sailed on other Carnival ships to Amber Cove.  Nice port with a big swimming pool to lounge around.  The beach there is not really accessible.  To get to Puerto Plata you would need to book a taxi or book an excursion for some beach time.  I would also check out the Port of Call boards here on CC for more info.  Hope that helps!

Really enjoyed on our visit pre COVID visit. They had the large pool as the previous poster mentioned and a lazy river as well as other things to do, like zip line. Tons of chairs and just a nice place to relax, they had drink servers available but no vendors as its a private area.

Thank you for the information - very helpful

A Carnival excursion that we have done twice out of Amber Cove is the two-stop catamaran snorkeling excursion.  Lots of fun, lots of fish to see, lots of rum punch.  If you decide not to do beach time, this is a great alternative!

Do you know how to get to the beach if we wanted beach time?

A taxi to Puerto Plata.  Near the Aquarium or Ocean World I have heard is a good beach with restaurants.  Don't know cost of taxi.
