Rob-Seattle Posted August 3, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2022 (edited) We are thinking about taking a Star Legend or Star Pride Cruise in August. How's the current capacity? Thank you for your responses. Edited August 3, 2022 by Rob-Seattle
Rare FlyerTalker Posted August 4, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2022 Only someone with real-time access to stateroom availability would be able to give you an accurate answer. One can make some assumption from seeing "Call for availability" next to stateroom categories on the website, but even that isn't definitive. gracebest Posted August 4, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2022 Someone posted about 3 or 4 weeks ago from the Pride that there were 154 passengers on board. Perhaps you could check one of the roll calls for current cruises and ask your question there.
milepig Posted August 4, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2022 Is the site that showed which cabins were booked back up? I think it had gone down at one point. The roll calls are almost useless it's a desert.
diebroke Posted August 4, 2022 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2022 On the Norwegian Fjords cruise 2 weeks ago, the crew said the Legend was "almost full." They also said the next leg (south from Copenhagen) had very few guests. I take this to mean that Windstar is not limiting the number of guests & the demand for a specific itinerary is the determining factor. There wasn't an issue with an "almost full" ship. Service was excellent. There didn't seem to be any shortage of trained staff as I read about on other cruise lines.
Rare ryndam Posted August 4, 2022 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2022 (edited) We just returned from 18 days b2b on Star Pride. The 11-day segment from Leith-Reykjavik had 150+/- guests onboard. The next 7-day segment r/t Reykjavik had 260 +/- guests onboard. Speaking with the hotel manager onboard, Windstar is currently holding capacity at 75% so that they have sufficient empty rooms for Covid isolation (both for crew and passengers). We were told that all ten Deck 3 "porthole" cabins, as well as the very far forward Deck 4 cabins were off-inventory for isolation use. There were approx. 180+/- crew onboard for both segments. Choose Something Fun Posted August 11, 2022 #7 Share Posted August 11, 2022 We got off the Star Legend on August 2nd from Copenhagen to Amsterdam and there were only 53 passengers on board. They said the next cruise from Amsterdam to Edinburg was scheduled to have approximately 150 passengers on board. They were offering passengers on our cruise an option to stay aboard for the Amsterdam to Edinburg segment for only $100 pp/pn
