Good day all!

Lifelong cruiser here - Wife and I decided to try a family vacation with our little ones.  Daughter is 3 and Son will be 6 months at time of cruise.  We usually stick to RC but because of schedule and price (...and new ship) we decided to give MSC a shot.  Excited to be on some of the first sailings of the MSC Seascape out of PoM (12/26).

That said, MSC's customer service is TERRIBLE and I can't get straight answers so I decided to ask here on CC...

Looking for anyones experience on MSC with a 6 month old (or around that age).

Disclaimer: Dont waste anyones time lecturing about the kids being too young, dont tell me about your 2,3,5, or 10 year old, dont tell me what NCL or RC does - I am looking for real experience on MSC specifically with infants. Thank you!

That said... Questions specific to your experience:

Did MSC provide cribs? How was the quality?

Did they provide car seats for excursions?

Did they provide diapers or a place to purchase diapers on board?

What was the child care/babysitting like?  Did you use the drop off services or did you have to stay with them?

Was the staff and fellow passengers accepting of young children running around?

Was there in-room babysitting?

Anything you wish you knew before traveling?

Thank you all in advance!!

Among the information on the MSC website that has a large section dedicated to information on the services available to those sailing MSC with small children is the following statement:

Do you provide any equipment for parents with young children?

We do everything we can to make life easier and as comfortable as possible for all our guests. Partnering with world-leader Chicco, we provide a limited quantity of beautifully-designed bottle warmers, strollers, bouncers and backpacks on board for your combined comfort and convenience. Among the shops on board, you’ll find a Chicco corner with a selection of great products for babies and toddlers, including nappies.
Also a limited number of cots and highchairs are available on board, although please be prepared for increased demand for these during the high season. Please be sure that the travel agency sends your request for these items at the time of booking via e-mail.

Did they provide car seats for excursions? NO

Did they provide diapers or a place to purchase diapers on board?  Which cruiseline provides diapers?  You can purchase at exorbitant rates onboard

What was the child care/babysitting like?  Did you use the drop off services or did you have to stay with them? As of last month there were no services for 0-3

Was the staff and fellow passengers accepting of young children running around? Are you seriously asking if it's ok for your 3 year old to run around when outside of a designated kid play area?

Was there in-room babysitting? No

Yeah, sounds great, but from my experience MSC with small children, don't bet too much on this. Highchairs are available. We were on one the Mera with our nine month old, even the ship was already many months sailing they still waited for all these wonderful things to come and probably will do so in 2022 also 😄

Still the cruise with our baby was excellent. And with our meanwhile two kids we not considering any other line anymore. Just follow the old MSC rule to prepare yourself and not bother them and if something's going wrong blame yourself and not MSC.

Completely waste of time to ask the MSC customer service about those topics. They have no idea and absolutely have no idea when it comes to a new ship.
