How to start chatting on Navigator app?

My wife and I both downloaded the Navigator app and have logged in with our booking, but there doesn't seem to be a way to start chatting on the app? 

Is this because our cruise hasn't started yet? or am I doing something wrong

That won’t be available until you are onboard.  It will be connect, then chat

They would both need to buy the internet package. My DH and I share one and we boot each other off as necessary.

To be clear…we do have internet as part of our package, as our travel partners.  Do we turn off “Roaming” on our cells; use the internet WiFi hide onboard???

Exactly.  I simply go into airplane mode, double checking by turning off cellular data.  I can receive texts from family and friends who are also apple users
