Snorkeling in Antigua

We will be in Antigua and will be using Celebrity's Beach Express excursion. Decided with all that is still going on, that is the better idea, this year.

Question is, what about the snorkeling in Antigua. Our original excursion was a day pass through Celebrity, but that was cancelled for some reason. That location said the snorkeling was very good and I was just wondering if that was true throughout the island.

Thanks

Best spot is Cades reef, which is off shore and reached by boat.  At least see reef before tourists destroy it.  It decays every year with morons standing on, walking over it and taking pieces away as souvenirs.

There is a spot to the north of Half Moon Bay, but it’s his and miss, isolated, no services, no facilities and taxis charge a premium to take you there and difficult to get a cab back to the ship.

Is Galley Bay any good for snorkeling? Or is Deep Bay better?

Looking for a snorkel / beach day from the cruise ship at end of Dec. How much would a taxi be and are they easy to get for the return back to ship?

As the weather changes, so does beach snorkelling.  The sea giveth and the sea taketh away.

Best to wait for current information from a live participants just prior to visiting.
Work on $30 e/w plus tip.  Driver will be happy to collect at time requested.

Thanks for the info. Have now decided to book a catamaran sail & snorkel tour to Paradise Reef.

Anyone have any feedback on Paradise Reef for snorkeling?

Good choice, best to see it before it’s destroyed by cruise ‘day trippers’, just like Cades.
