Inveterate Cruiser Posted September 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2022 I have been trying to research VP JoB pay tables on the various cruise lines. Based on what I have seen on Carnival Vista and what I have found on CC, here is the info I have obtained right now: (Correct as at 15 Sep 2022) Carnival : 6/5 (5% House edge) Celebrity: (Single-line) Modified 7-5 (8.6% HE) ; Multi-line 6-5 (5% HE) RCL: 6/5 (5% HE) 0.25 denom ; 8/5 (1.4% HE) $10/25 denom Anyone has info for Princess? Thanks in advance! 1

On Princess "Jacks or Better" 6/5. Don't remember if the $1.00 or bigger denominations pay better. That's why I won't play. It's hard enough to make money at 9/6. Lorabelle Posted September 16, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2022 (edited) Yes, 6/5. And the bad part about the machines recently is that you also have to play 10 coins in to get the big jackpot for the Royal Flush. At 10 coins the RF pays $2000. (8000 coins) At 5 coins, it pays $312.50 (1250 coins). As I recall it was the same on Carnival, but I'm not 100% positive. Definitely the same on Holland America.... 6/5 and have to play 10 coins for max pay on RF. Edited September 16, 2022 by Lorabelle

But if you play 5 coins you get the standard 6/5 payout ie RF 4000 coins.
Thrak Posted September 16, 2022 #7 Share Posted September 16, 2022 Our oldest son was on a trip with us to visit his sister in Montana. He wanted to see what the Indian casinos were all about. (Don't give me any crap. They call themselves Indians - not Native Americans.) He wanted to get a beer and was told they don't sell beer but, if he played, they would provide free beer. He said, "Ok!" then put $20 into a video poker machine and asked for a beer. They brought him a beer. He thanked them nicely, hit the button, was dealt a Royal Flush on the first deal, cashed out and left. Sigh... All I ever do is lose. 2
Rare KKB Posted September 16, 2022 #8 Share Posted September 16, 2022 (edited) You might look at the multi-line games. There was one bank of 4 machines on CB that I quite literally could practically never get on as 4 women were on there virtually every hour the casino was open! (I noticed their points were in the tens of thousands--I noticed one lady was over 20K by Day 3😳). Now, I don't know if it was because the odds were better on that game or they were just addicts.... DH & I have been pleasantly surprised to find that Spin poker & other games will occasionally be 8-5. Yes, I know 9-6 is the goal...but 8-5 is nearly non-existent as well! (8-5 Bonus is actually best payout & the play is nearly identical to JoB) Edited September 16, 2022 by KKB

All I ever do is lose. Good for your son. I have a very similar story. On a Celebrity cruise we met an older couple at our dinner table. They never played video poker, but thought they would try just a $20 bill. They had no idea what they were doing, but they were dealt a royal flush straight up without needing to draw for it. But.....you guessed it.... they played only one quarter. They won 250 quarters instead of 4000. He said that he didn't know if he should celebrate or not. But, hey, he cashed in for $62.50 and never looked back. So he did better than the vast majority of the players on that cruise.
