Rooms with a sofa bed

Wife & I are planning an Alaska cruise.  We are looking at Holland America cruises.  We have a 15 year old son that would need a sofa bed for sleeping.  It looks like the verandah rooms do not have sofa beds & the only rooms with sofa beds are suites.  Is this correct?  Any help would be appreciated.  TIA

If you look at the deck plan of whatever HAL ship you are interested in, cabins with a sofa bed have a small circle in the cabin diagram to indicate 2 lower beds and 1 sofa bed.  A small square in the depiction indicates 2 lower beds, 1 sofa bed, and 1 pullman bed (pulls down from ceiling).  Cabins not showing either of those symbols only have the 2 lower beds.  In each of these instances, the staff can pull the two lower beds together to make a queen--nearly a king--size bed.

I find the following site to be very handy in looking at ship configurations: Holland America Line Cruise Ship Fleet (cruisedeckplans.com)  HAL has the deck plans on its site too but I find it more convenient to see all the ships in this easy to use location.  This site also has a cabin check tool (buried at bottom right of a deck depiction page) that is great for seeing what is located directly above and below the cabin you are considering.
