La Cucina for dinner.

The veal (not pictured) was so dry I ended up only having bread dipped in olive oil, balsamic, and parmesan for dinner.

My husband loved the lasagna but said the pasta fagiole soup was salty.

The service was great and the desserts were 🔥

Breakfast in the Haven restaurant - the grits were bland and flavorless; I chopped up my sausages, added butter, and asked for some shredded cheddar cheese to better them up.

I did not know that the coffees that are under the Starbucks logo in the Haven restaurant (or anywhere else for that matter) are complementary. I enjoyed a latte with my breakfast.

We were in the atrium for games around lunchtime and decided to just eat at Savor for lunch.
We both had the corn chowder, and it was good, and the chicken Parm – the noodles were dry but the chicken was delicious.
We had the peanut butter cheesecake and the mocha pot de crème for dessert.
(I prefer the variety of desserts offered elsewhere as opposed to the ones offered in the Haven reataurant.)

We did Cagney’s for dinner - I have read a lot on the boards lately about Cagney‘s, but we enjoyed it – the service was excellent as was the food.

Our appetizers were Caesar salad and French onion soup (both delicious) our mains were ribeyes that were incredible, however the potatoes au gratin were a little too firm.

For dessert we had the raspberry crème brûlée (YUM), and another latte for me.

Oh! This made me hungry. And mournful I'm not in the Haven with you right now. I've had the grits a few times. Cheese, salt, and pepper is a must! Of course at home I only eat grits with Velveeta. Yep, fake cheese for the win! It's much better than any other type of cheese I've tried and is how my grandmother always prepared them for me. Those older southern ladies know how to make a great meal!

I will be boarding October 30th….can you let us know what shows might be available and if there is any crowding in the venues?  I realize that Haven guests get priority but I am assuming that capacity is nearing normal numbers and am curious if the venues will feel full during shows, etc.

Hope you have a wonderful time.

The Haven is full.
This ship has 2800 of 4000 aboard.

NOTE that SIX is only on the first two days. I totally missed that and thought we could see it later in the week. :classic_sad:

The Haven restaurant doesn’t really appeal to us for lunch.
For us that’s a disadvantage of the Haven is that the menu doesn’t change. So, since we are down in the atrium midday often we have been using the main dining rooms for lunch.

The food there has been inconsistent – but I do appreciate the variety.

This soup for example was not good at all. It was basically broth with some noodles and raw vegetables for chicken noodle soup. The hush puppies were delicious.
And I love their desserts.
The service has been excellent there.

We were without internet service one day – the entire ship. I believe it was at Icy Strait … people were ticked.
The concierge said “they are blocking our signal.”

Last night the decks were all closed off because of the wind. And for a good 2+ hours the ship was really rockin’ and rollin’. Some of the worst that I’ve ever experienced actually.

Today we are in Ketchikan. We are only here for about 5 hours. We are doing a trolley tour; we aren’t terribly adventurous folk. Though my husband (I mentioned he has stage IV cancer) is doing a lot of “YOLO” things lately and did the trams to the tops

of mountains in Juneau and Icy Strait.

Temps are around 50° everywhere; not bad (we’re from Idaho, so it feels like home).

Three showings of Jersey Boys left so, we’ll have to

catch it. The Beatles show was good - short, but good.
The comedians were just alright.
