eight of us in group. Two children who will not enjoy their included speciality dinner. Can their included dinner in HIA be used by one of the adult couple at another time?

Per HAL's HIA Terms and Conditions, the dinner would not be transferrable.

"Have it All amenities are subject to availability, available for new bookings only, available for 1st/2nd guests only, apply only to the cruise portion of Alaska Cruisetours, and are not transferable or refundable."

I was surprised to see you say the two children get the HIA amenities.  I guess they are both the 2nd guest in cabins with a parent or guardian?

I am also surprised the children would be eligible for HIA; the only way would be if they are booked as the second guest in a room with an adult.  As pointed out, likely no transferring the dinner, but you could always ask.  As for the kids liking the food in the specialty restaurants, you might be surprised.  Some of the menu items have fancy names, but they are pretty "normal" items.  And it is possible you can ask if the chef can make something the kids would like.  How about a hamburger and french fries in PG or spaghetti and meatballs in Canaletto.

Yes, they are split into  2 cabins, each with a parent…there are NO connected inside cabins on Koningsdam!   We will ask, but know they will be up for the experience

of the special evening……just a little shorter than it would be if the parents only were all together.  The other perks made it worthwhile even if they only drink mocktails and pop….. OBC, excursion $, gratuities, dinner, wifi.  Great time is promised!  Family fun.

Good experiences for the kids.....Ours grew up "ordering off the menu" themselves on cruise ships (never the kiddo menu) and they learn to love fish, escargot, duck  and other items that are not burgers and chicken fingers.

Also, which fork to use and all those other things about fine dining......napkin in the lap.....how do you want your steak cooked.....how to eat soup......LOL and on and on....

They will enjoy and thank you later......Have a blast!
