tbmrt Posted October 27, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2022 Can I use my cellphone as usual while in line outside and in the terminal? When do I need to go into airplane mode/shut data roaming to avoid charges? Going to go without wifi onboard this trip.
Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted October 27, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2022 I switch over to airplane mode as I’m waving goodbye to the port on sail away. PC has plenty of cell towers in the area and you’re not “roaming” until you leave.
asalligo Posted October 27, 2022 #3 Share Posted October 27, 2022 Yes, just turn it off before you leave the sight of land and you are fine. Mine worked out to at least 5 miles.
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted October 28, 2022 #4 Share Posted October 28, 2022 You might keep a signal from your cell phone carrier longer than you think. Sailings from Port Canaveral go right down the coast and after dark you can often still see the lit-up U.S. coast line. I don't turn my phone off (or to airplane mode) until I no longer see the Verizon logo at the top of my phone.
