RRTcruiser Posted November 7, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2022 It’s almost 6 am here, we left Madiera yesterday afternoon heading home 280 degrees (mostly west) towards Fort Lauderdale. Recently we turned due north 360 degrees and have slowed to 4 knots.

RRTcruiser Posted November 7, 2022 Author #8 Share Posted November 7, 2022 (edited) Slowing down again, now turned south, helicopter has made multiple approach’s to ship, helicopter appears more military than medical, maybe all that’s around. Also a small plane passing us as well Edited November 7, 2022 by RRTcruiser spelling
gumshoe958 Posted November 7, 2022 #9 Share Posted November 7, 2022 Almost certainly a med evac. Pretty common on TAs with a much older than normal clientele. We had one off the Azores on Wonder in April.

mo&fran Posted November 7, 2022 #11 Share Posted November 7, 2022 SAR service will not necessarily have the same markings as USCG, and helicopters will often be accompanied by fixed wing aircraft to monitor operations. Ship speed and direction will be directed by pilot for a safe operation.

RRTcruiser Posted November 7, 2022 Author #14 Share Posted November 7, 2022 Back on course now, Captain did make an announcement saying there was a passenger on board that required more medical attention then the ship could provide. Prayers to passenger and family
