StollyBolly Posted November 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2022 I am struggling with packing for an Antarctica cruise in November. They provide gear for going ashore but how warm do I need to be on deck? I have Timberland boots. Do I need those or something else? Just good shoes with socks? Any help appreciated. crystalspin Posted November 10, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2022 Ask here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/370-antarctica/ I would pack silk longies, merino wool midlayers, plus a fleece jacket, perhaps a rain-proof top layer. Don't forget hat(s) and gloves. Imagine you are going to Alaska in May and want to be spending time on deck. Remember it is their spring-to-summer and you are not going to the pole. We sailed around the Horn in November, not to Antarctica but I packed like we were! Never used the heavy longjohns OR the down vests!
