I suspect the “rule” was announced fleetwide as some of the door decorations had gotten out of hand with stuff that was 3D and causing obstructions a few years back. It was enforced for a short while but it definitely isn’t policed so much anymore. As long as the decorations are not obtrusive they seem to be allowed now.
