A Beyond very short review; Caribbean, 11/13/22

One day to go and another cruise will be over. This will be a short review, I hope.

 

The Beyond is a beautiful ship. Is that short enough 😀.

 

There are 2800 passengers and the ship does fill crowded at all. Never an issue getting lounge chairs on open decks, seats at Oceanview Cafe; only thing you need to do is book reservations for dining at least three months ahead of time to get the time you want. Seemed that everything was booked until 9 pm once you boarded the ship. Service was hit and miss along with food. Training staff continues. Issues with communciations with wait staff leading to wrong drinks and food ordered. Some days food was excellent, some days poor quality. Entertainment was excellent. One nite at the beginning of singers and dancers show, Element, one of the performers was hurt. Screams were chilling but was told the performer was ok. Show was stopped. 
 

Only other major issue was elevators. For a new ship the elevator performance was terrible. Several times taken to wrong floor or no floor at all. 
Then one nite at 12:53 am in the morning at most all cabins, all lights came on, tv came on and the motorized blinds raised. Told it was a computer issue that had happened before.

 

I would rate overall cruise experience at 7.2365 out of 10.0000.

 

On a lighter side, yesterday saw a passenger wearing  a t shirt that said on front of shirt, “Adventure Before Dementia”. I went up to the passenger and said that was a good t shirt but I could not remember my last adventure. 😳

We will be on Beyond in 3 weeks.  When you board Beyond, where do you come onto the ship?  We were confirmed for late dining but have seen on this board that we actually have to make reservations for the MDR.  If you did this was it done at the restaurants when you boarded or do you have to call the dining extension noted in the app?

Board on Deck 5. I made all our dining reservations on Celebrity website months ago.

I totally forgot about this.   I think that was Monday night? Originally my husband thought I had done it, and I thought he had.   Led to much discussion.   He went back to sleep.  I was then awake so I went downstairs to have a cigarette.   Older gentleman arrived later and said same happened to his cabin so it was then I knew I wasn’t losing my mind.   Was so weird.

I spoke to a Staff member and was told this happened three months ago. It’s a IT issue. After I woke up I began checking for hidden cameras 🥸 and then wondered if the IT guy had been escorted from the ship.

As posted on another thread, the elevators were so bad on the Beyond, “How bad was it RedneckBob?, It was so bad that Celebrity should have offered frequent flyer miles for the miles I traveled on the elevator.
