Finally the smoked porter. One of my favs but you can pretty much only get it on ships with breweries. It’s made to go with bbq. And Colin who was the guy who created it. Won an award for it. Then when he left Carnival he submitted it with another brewery and won again.

 

Mike changed this batch up a little with oak chips soaked in bourbon.

This is where the brewmasters work is done. I have seen these tanks working on panorama. They won’t be here again until the week after eat. But tbey can pump beer between these two units and the back to any container in brewery that they want.

The ones with the black tubes have a direct connection to the beer taps. Those are the most popular which are the toasted Amber and the ipa. The others he has to make kegs for.  He has backup cylinders for the toasted Amber and ipa

and can pump beer from the backup cylinders to the main ones at any time.

The four beers we tasted he calls the carnival 4. He has to brew those and he can have four seasonal.

We got to vote on a seasonal to try. My all of the above was not accepted the MIA Mojito won the vote. It tastes very similar to lemonade.

We got pint glasses and certificates. You can show the certificate at the bar

for a pint at any time on the cruise

A couple other notes. 2-8 weeks grain to glass for ale. 6-8 for lager. Mike spent 2 1/2 months in Finland brewing beer for the TA.

Tour was a little over an hour and I thought worth it. Especially for someone without cheers I got 8 of those little beers plus a pint. Plus a pint glass and certificate. Plus the tour done by the brewmaster for what woul’ve been 27 dollars. My cheers discount brought it to 21.

tbe brewery tour so we talked a lot.

im looking at their pizza and thinking it looks better than the pizza place. They say it is.

I ended up trying the pizza. Apart from tbe vegetation I’d say the cheese and pepperoni are better balanced and the crust is soft.

 

the one main on the menu that isn’t on other ships is the chicken. So maybe that what I’d try if I did it again.

I just ate a slice of this so I can try something else later
