Carnival Splendor Gangway Damage 21 Nov 22

Heard from a friend on board that one of the OTPs gangways was damaged due to high winds when the Carnival Splendor berthed today.

 

Be interesting to see if there is a flow on affect for boarding and departure on time ...

That is worrying news for all the other ships that need to berth in these huge winds

Gangway all fixed and back up and operational .......

Where is the teacup at the OPT ? 🤔🤔🤔   😁😁😁

We had a similar problem the other day with the Eclipse. The gangway is controlled  and adjusts automatically by sensors and the unusually strong, blustery winds seemed to cause it to continually reset

Supposed to depart at 4pm but hasn’t. Tug boats turned up but have since left.

mate on board says winds are too high and they don't want to end up on the main stage of the Opera House

 

Expecting 7 pm departure

It looks on webcams, that even the regular harbour ferries seem to have a hard time getting into circular quay. 

Oh well, as long as the bars are open.... 

A short while ago, a small boat was very very close to the ship.

It looked like a tug, but perhaps it wasn't...
