slanik Posted November 30, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2022 We are wondering about the ability to rebook a cruise once onboard. New 2024/2025 Caribbean cruises are released in December. We already have a cruise booked for the end of January 2023. If we pick out a cruise and cabin for 2024/2025 beforehand and book it, can we cancel and rebook onboard to get the onboard perks? In other words, can we hold a specific cabin then cancel and rebook the same cabin once onboard? Has anybody ever done this?
jelayne Posted November 30, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2022 We did a few years ago. The rep on board couldn’t cancel the original booking. We had to cancel the cruise before the onboard rep could start the booking. That leaves the cabin available for a short time and if someone has it waitlisted it could be gone. The other consideration is if the price goes up your rebooking would be at the higher price.

jelayne Posted November 30, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2022 We book with a TA and sometimes our desired cabin isn’t available when we book so he puts us on a waitlist for that cabin. If the cabin opens up then we are assigned to that cabin, it doesn’t go back as a available cabin. If you booked with Celebrity you would need to call them.
