muffin Posted December 3, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2022 Early Feb have cruise out of SF. Overnight the night before near union Square. How to get from SFO a to hotel in easiest way at most reasonable cost? Arrive SF at 1:00 pm on a Thursday.A small group bus would be okay as we can sight see on way if they exist, or other ideas. Thx to those in the know.

CruiserBruce Posted December 3, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 3, 2022 Well...no answer. But the most cost efficient way is Uber/Lyft.

Just wing it. There's a designated ride share pickup area in the domestic parking garage, 5th floor. Taxis are in the roadway islands on the arrival section. The cheapest alternative is bus, at $2.25 per person. SamTrans route 292 provides regular service from the airport to several stops along Mission Street in downtown San Francisco, a few blocks from Union Square, with a travel time of about one hour. Whether bus travel meets travel expectation is another matter . . . . http://www.samtrans.com/media/23882

Incognito1 Posted December 7, 2022 #10 Share Posted December 7, 2022 Uber driver left us hanging and we had to pay the cancellation fee, even though HE was in the wrong place. Took a cab - was LESS than Uber had quoted.

I had far more issues with cabs the previous 25 years; so had most people. That is why Uber succeeded.
Incognito1 Posted December 8, 2022 #12 Share Posted December 8, 2022 Glad it works for you. It didn't for us. We had a great cab driver both to the hotel and post-cruise.
GTJ Posted December 8, 2022 #13 Share Posted December 8, 2022 There are pluses and minuses to each of taxi and TNC services. Cities tend to regulate taxis more heavily, so there is frequently greater recourse with taxi service. On the other hand, taxis had for a long time been less responsive, and TNCs shook up the business with innovation. I generally favor bus service over both taxi and TNC, in part because bus drivers tend to be the best trained and most professional of all.
