saintlytraveler Posted December 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2022 We want a refund but they say we will lose the $700 that we paid for travel insurance. And they did not refund any money because they eliminated the three countries!
klfrodo Posted December 22, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2022 (edited) First of all, welcome to CruiseCritic. Next thing would be, is there a question that we can help with. The information provided is very limited but there may be options available. As a general rule of thumb though, the cruise contract that you agree to when you sign up for a cruise is that the cruise line has the option to change itineraries at any time. Another general rule of thumb is that insurance is not refundable after the initial 10- or 14-day preview period. Assuming that you purchased the insurance from Viking at the time you purchased the cruise, would be to find another Viking cruise that fits your needs and ask if your purchased insurance could be moved to that travel date. Read your paperwork but I assume you'll find that they have the right to change or skip ports of call even if core to your wants/plans. If so, you likely don't have much options other than possibly changing your dates.
