Hi,

VV have a whole beer bar called “Draught Haus”. It has generally between 5 and 10 guest beers and on tap options. VV do have cans on board and glass bottles as well of beers. They include lager, blondes and a couple of dark ales. So yep, your going to be fine and able to find a few new fav beers.

There are definitely bottles and cans for sale.

The website says there are no single serve bottles allowed. We were told to bring our own plastic water bottles to refill around the ship. It also says there are only pitchers of water in the cabins. So this is good news.

No single use plastic is onboard, they still use a lot of aluminium cans and glass bottles. But there is no single use plastic at all, all cutlery is metal and washable, even grab and go meal containers are washed and reused.

Beer is generally in cans (lighter than bottles so easier to store) but some will be in glass. Heineken is available draft on most of the ship but the draught haus bar has a bigger selection. Restaurants will usually have beers matching the cuisine so Italian beers like Peroni in Extra Virgin etc.

Yes for water there are glass carafes in your room which the attendant will refill (ask on the tablet if needed) or if you want sparkling. In restaurants they fill your glass from the carafe. In the Galley food court there are plastic glasses for soda, juice and water. By the pool there are bottle refill machines or you can go to the bar where there is usually a lemon water dispenser too.

I brought my Tervis tumbler to use for ice tea around the ship.  I also brought my own re-use straws because I hate paper straws.  You will have glass glasses in your room with the water carafes.  The only place I saw single use styrofoam cups was in The Grounds Club.  Otherwise it was glass tea cups, etc.  I've read of people attempting to bring full single use water bottles on board and having them confiscated.  I've not seen or heard of anyone having an empty container in their luggage taken.

Beer is definitely served on tap AND in glass bottles and aluminum cans.  There are several brands in cans in The Pizza Place, for example.  Some of these are the same brands that are on tap elsewhere on the ship.

Thanks for clearing that up, will bring some empty plastic water bottles. We like bottled water next to the bed, not glass.

Just buy a nice Chilli branded water bottle or a VV branded one on the ship in the shop in deck 6. That way you can also use it at home saving even more pointless plastics being made. A water filter at home (jug or fitted as a tap) is also a cheap investment longer term to help the planet.

Reusing plastic bottle that are not designed to be reused is not good for people, as the bottles leak micro-plastics which you drink, plus other chemicals.

problem solved.

Best wishes

Rob

I understand there are no single serving bottles or cans, so everything must be on tap. What beers do VV carry? I am not a big fan of IPA beers, especially dark or fruity. Does VV carry anything like Stella?

Not sure exactly what kinds of beer, but the Draught Haus does carry Growlers that you can take around the ship. They were quite popular on our Scarlet Lady cruise. They're heavily insulated and according to the bartender we met, she said they keep the beer cold for hours.

Let me clear this up. we use a filtered water pitcher at home and refill water bottles only for bed time. we are very ecological and regularly recycle.

I always carry a double walled stainless steel bottle every where I go. It keeps water cool all day when filled. I take it through security at airports empty and refill it from the chilled filtered water airside at airports or if none will buy water and fill it.

I also have it by my bedside at night
