Has NCL fulfilled the promise of 6 Litres of water for NCL passengers with the Free At Sea package?

The screenshots people provided of the terms say the cruise had to be booked between 9/14/22-12/15/22.

I booked my March 26 cruise on 10/10/22 so it was within that period. However, there was no mention of the 6 pack of 1 liter carton of water to go along with what was then called the "Premium Beverage Package" in the confirmation email. I added the shareholder onboard credit shortly after and got an Amenity Confirmation email but that too didn't mention any 6 pack of water. The only place I saw it was in the Vacation Add-On section in the Vacation Summary on the website but that disappeared a month or two ago.

I checked-in a few hours ago and retrieved the e-docs and it lists the beverage package and water as:

Unlimited Open Bar Package BEVPK1 1
Water 6-pack (1-Liter) WBP6

1

Note the promo code is not WATER6PK but WBP6 and the beverage package is the current name "Unlimited Open Bar Package."

Hopefully this means it will show up in my cabin.

Thank you for posting this information.  It definitely seems like the water will be in your cabin.

I do not think the six pack that we were gifted will be in our cabin next week; however, I am bringing the e-mail chain where I was notified that we would be given one six pack as a courtesy.   This did show up a few months ago, then it disappeared also.

I booked last November, which was during the promo period, but didn't take the drink package.  I've now decided to sign up for the drink package, but I don't see the water on my summary.  My cruise in April 1st.  I'm curious to see if I have the water in my room.  It won't be worth me fighting for or anything as they do give out the waters in the Casino and I usually collect them there.  As this is the first time I've ever decided to get the drink package (vs just drinking at the casino bar), I'll probably be drinking a lot less water anyway.

I have never noticed this.... and I certainly have been in the Casino.

are you a CAS player with a casino drink card?  Waters, soda (whole cans), energy drinks, and coffee drinks are available

We were on the Joy from Jan. 6 thru the 21st and we each got 6 flow water.   If you don't mind sparkling water, get club soda - bartenders will fill up you water container.

what kind of coffee drinks? Like canned energy type coffee drinks or something else? I ask because I will have a drink card, but I am contemplating adding the Starbucks package (not for the coffee) so just wondering...

They call it specialty coffees.  I know it's not canned.  They have a machine.  I can't be more specific because I've never got anything made from it.

Hmmm....a machine.  I will check it out next month and report back.  Thanks for the quick response!

I have the card they give you for the casino.... is this the same card?  I am not on a CAS booking.

no, not if you're talking about the player's card.  The drink card would be a separate card.  It would say "drinks on us" on the card, or something like that

Breakaway March 5th. 12 boxes of water in cabin along with three small for Sapphire and gold latitudes status. My daughter did not like the new water and thought tap water tasted better. Left six boxes in cabin end of cruise.
If you are on a CAS cruise you get two cards, players card and a drink card. If you have the regular drink package through free at sea the only advantage of the CAS drink card is boxed water and energy drinks. They also will give canned soda if available to take back to your cabin.

I love my Soda Stream but can't stand club soda from the fountain. Am I weird?

Yes, we love our Soda Stream too, but I was able to acquire the taste of club soda but not tonic water.😊

I only like the water if I pour it out of the carton and into a glass. It tastes strange to me if I drink it straight out of the carton. I also like it better if I add ice.

So I was with a group on the Escape last week of February. I had 6 bottles in my room. My buddy booked the same day and received none. Others in the group got 6 and others got none. One of our friends got 12 and the other room got 13. No rhyme or reason I think. None of our reservations had any reference to any water. I think some get left behind and past on to the next guest in the room. Not happy about this but just added up my things that week that make me go “hmmmm” about NCL.

Great. I guess we have to make sure it's not a carton someone has opened before. More cartons are left behind because of this change to the open bar. I bet some people think it's an extra charge since they have the water in the minibar that will cost extra.

Are the cabin stewards saying anything or is there a note saying it's part of open bar? What about the Latitudes water?

  • 2 weeks later...

This was just a deceptive move by NCL. Typical.

If you remember back in  September 2022, NCL announced it would be increasing the cost of the drinks package from $99 to $109 per person per day for our convenience - the highest price in the industry, with the most restrictions. At the same time, in an attempt to "soften the blow", they coincidentally began a promotion that made it appear as if the package would include 6 1L cartons of water going forward. Then, on December 31, just before the price increase, they quietly pulled the 6 1L bottles from the regular package, leading to this multi page thread by consumers who were confused, thinking they paid for something NCL was not providing. It's all just smoke in mirrors.

They even had the media fooled with their cryptic, vague policy.

The six pack we were gifted was in our cabin waiting for us along with our Latitudes water.    With those waters and our Butler always making sure we had a filled water pitcher, we survived the water crisis.
