I'm booked for an Aug 2023 Iceland/Greenland cruise.  I don't have a cabin number yet since this cruise was sold out and I was waitlisted.  Now I have a "V1-GTY".  Any idea what that means.  I've never booked a cruise and didn't get my cabin right away.  How does it work for assigning cabins.  Any idea when that happens?  I did it through my TA and she says they could assign it at any time.  I'm anxious about not knowing what cabin we will be in.

For a lower rate, you are guaranteed a veranda cabin .  Typically, if you pay more, you can choose a cabin (but since you were waitlisted that option might not have been available).  Your cabin assignment could come at any time---probably no latter than a month prior.

I also had a SS Guarantee for my Greenland / Iceland Cruise.   Mine showed SS2 as it was a Sky Suite 2 guarantee.   A room was not assigned until about 2 weeks prior to the cruise and we received an accessible SS2.

 

On the other B2B -   A S1 showed up at a lower price than my room so I "Upgraded" for a price guarantee and had a room assigned.  

 

Check frequently and if you see a V1 available call in and ask them to assign.
