Beach/shopping

There will be 8 of us.  Can we get off the ship and walk to a beach and shopping area?  I'm not seeing an excurision that offers both.  What do you suggest?

Which port?   Havensight or Crown Bay?

Both have shopping areas near the piers.  Havensight is a little better.

You can walk into Charlottle Amalie from either but taxi is probably better.

Taxi to Lindbergh Beach from Crown Bay will get you to a great beach.

Bolongo Bay beach is relatively close to Havensight.

We will be on the Royal Caribbean Wonder ship.  How can I find out which port?

You will be at Crown Bay. Bolongo Bay Beach is not close enough that you can walk especially since there isn't a sidewalk that takes you there.

Are there plenty of taxi's or should I book thru the ship to be safe?

Plenty of taxis at the popular tourist spots and taxi drivers go out of their way to get passengers back to their ship in plenty of time. They only take cash for the most part so be prepared if you decide to go independently.

It depends how long you're in port.  We did shopping and the catamaran excursion to St. John.

Sailing Reflection in March with a friend who has limited mobility.  I know the taxi stand in Havensight is a bit of a walk but thinking Reflection will dock in Crown Bay.  Is the taxi stand to get to a beach close to the pier, or is it also a ways to walk?

It's a little closer, but I think the taxis for ship excursions park in a different area that's closer to the ship. Crown Bay is a much smaller docking area.
