LindaandJeff Posted March 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2006 I'll write more about it in my cruise review...but I wanted to let everyone know that the new production show which premiered on the Radiance last week called City of Dreams is wonderful. High energy. Great sets and costumes. Nifty tricks and acrobatics reminiscent of Cirque d' Soleil. It is a very ambitious production which definitely raises the level of cruise ship entertainment. If you are sailing on the Radiance soon, don't miss it.
Merion_Mom Posted March 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2006 This was a production of the regular Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers, Linda?
judycruiser Posted March 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2006 We saw that show on the Jewel of the Seas on the British Isles/Norwegian Fjords cruise in June, 2005. Really good show. Best show ever is Tango Buenos Aires which premiered on that same trrip. It featured tango dancers from Buenos Aires. Those dancers performed in the atrium one night to a full house and people hanging over railings and watching from higher decks. Glad to hear City of Dreams is on the Radiance. I am doing b2b in October. Can't wait. Cruise numbers 82 and 83. Happpy Cruising Judy
LindaandJeff Posted March 10, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted March 10, 2006 This was a production of the regular Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers, Linda? Yes, it was a whole new cast of Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers and all of the directors, chorepgraphers, set people and RCCL big wigs were on board for the rehearsals and premiere. They said it was a "world premiere" so I am a little confused by Judy's statment about seeing it in 2005 though. They hyped this premiere all week and it lived up to the billing. CRUSINGFAMILY Posted March 10, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2006 Yes, we saw City of Dreams and Tango Buenos Aires last November on Jewel. Both were wonderful shows!
mjsshipboy Posted March 10, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2006 City of Dreams is new to the Radiance, it replaced an old show, Welcome to our World. It is, however, not a totally new show. It was originally produced for the Jewel of the Seas and the show was cloned for the Radiance. Most production shows are on 2 different ships..... these shows cost so much to put together. madforcruising Posted March 10, 2006 #7 Share Posted March 10, 2006 The show was on the Jewel from the begining. Saw it the first time in May 2004. But I agree it´s one of the best shows I ever saw on a ship. Not to be missed.
