Medallions open multiple rooms?

So next month we’re traveling with our usual cruise buddies; what we’d like to do; is have any medallion open either of our doors. (Rooms are next door)

is that a sane request to ask guest services? (If we’re all four there and all consent) or are the medallions pre-programmed and no one on the ship has access to modify them?

Guest Services will make all 4 able to open both doors. Just did this in September. We didn't have to have all 4 there.......was just 2 of us......1 from each room.

We've done this more than once when travelling with family kids.

it is so much easier with the medallions than when you used to need to get an extra cruise card for the other door! it just takes a second for them to do it
