Bonaire kayak glass bottom excursion - do you need a waterproof bag/backpack?

We're doing the Bonaire kayak glass bottom boat excursion on an upcoming cruise. I do have a tiny waterproof sleeve for small items, but should I get a waterproof bag for bigger stuff or can you leave non-valuables in the van/bus you take to get there?
