Really confused as to what impact the increased price of drinks package will have on packages booked prior to changes

We booked a Princess cruise here in Australia which sailed 8th Dec - 21st December.  I think our fare was Plus which included drinks to a value of $16 Australian.   Loved it as most cocktails were priced at $16, most Scotch was covered and a limited number of wines by the glass, so it was great to have this package.

We also booked a cruise sailing soon on 24th February.   The packages have changed now and Plus fare now includes drinks up to $22 Australian .  I understand that our drinks package still only covers drinks up to $16 and I am fine with that as we paid less than new bookings are paying to cover the standard drinks package.  However I would feel cheated if they have also increased the price of drinks which would mean almost all cocktails would no longer be included in my package.  I feel that would be unfair,  as I purchased the Plus package fare knowing it was good value at it met my needs perfectly .  Fingers crossed we can still enjoy the great cocktails we had in December fully covered by our standard package.

Posts on other threads have indicated that your Plus package will include drinks up to the new limit.

New features, such as exercise classes and fancy desserts, will not be included.

You'll be very happy in that cabin. Yes, the balcony is much deeper being on the aft and on 14. We have that cabin booked on Discovery on an upcoming cruise and very much looking forward to it (we actually have the aft starboard 6 cabins booked and plan to have the balcony dividers opened up to make a mega-balcony).

I find 14 to be perfect placement since I like to be up high, the balcony is deep, and you have rooms immediately above and below you, and just 2 quick floors up to Lido. The aft elevators are less busy, and being aft you have an incredible view, less wind, soft vibration from the engines, soothing sound of the wake, it's awesome.

Two things to watch for: 1) depending on the speed of the ship and the wind pattern sometimes you get a little bit of soot on the balcony and rail. The stewards should be on top of it, but don't hesitate to give them a ring if you need them to come wipe things down. Just be aware of it so you don't accidentally sit down on a chair with soot on it. 🙂

2) There is a pool 2 floors above you and sometimes if someone is careless or rowdy, some splash might make its way down to you. I've also seen a small leak on Discovery's pool last September that I assume is fixed by now.

You'll have a great time!

Not sure what's happening here.  I'm not very experienced in using Cruise Critic and I seem to be mixing up my questions about cabin R735 and my questions about my Plus fare booked a while ago. I accidentally somehow posted a (non)  reply to both my topics a few moments ago without realising what I was doing.  Apologies for wasting anybodys time.  You have answered my question  about my cabin and about my drink package included in plus package .  Thanks for your patience and sharing your knowledge.

If you make a post and notice it is in error within 15 minutes or so after posting it, click on the three dots on the upper right of the post. You will see an option to edit the message.

Then you can change it to what you wanted it to be.

It seems Cruise Critic sometimes includes a prior post, as though the old post is on a clip-board. There is a 'clear editor' button that deletes it.

Thanks for helping me learn more about posting here.

Back to my topic, I have just now logged into my booking and under Standard Drinks Package it lists drinks up to $22  ( Australian ) , Wi-fi one device,  and the 3 NEW perks.  Then below that in red it states that the 3 new perks are not included for us.  So, you are definitely correct "Caribill" in how you explained it to me in your post yesterday.

That is totally fair and I am happy with that.  If the drinks prices have increased then obviously the same drinks will still be covered under our standard package as the dollar limit when we booked was $16 and now it is $22.  So happy sailing ahead for us.  Only 12 more sleeps to go!
