One person can’t make it

Recommended Posts

Two people booked in a cabin, now one may not be able to go. The other person will still go.

What is the best way to handle this. Call Royal and tell them, or just wait until check in to tell them?

It depends.  If both people have trip insurance and one person can't go because of a covered reason, then that person needs to cancel with Royal and both parties need to file an insurance claim.  The person still going will very likely have the single supplement reimbursed by their trip insurance.

No trip insurance.

The default is to have the person be a no show but, if the person still going cares about C&A status/points, check to see if switching the booking to solo for the remaining person can be done without changing the fare (that would get them extra points).
