Rare Eli_6 Posted March 4, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2023 So, take what I say with a grain of salt because I have only had aft view balconies...although, for many sailings, they or the vista were my cabin of choice. However, I have had them on a couple of different boats and I think at least once it was in the same class. The advantage to the extended aft balconies are: -more traditional room lay out -deeper/bigger balcony (the L-shaped is not as deep) -view off the back of the ship (which I really like) -and I *think* there is a sofa in the room Advantage of L-shaped: -bed faces towards the windows where you can lay in bed and look out (I *think*) I also feel like balconies on the side of the ship get more light than on the back of the ship, but this may have something to do with the decks I was on (i.e. I usually try to get on a deck with a fully or partially covered aft balcony), too, or even the weather at the time of the sailing. irisb Posted March 4, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2023 Hi, Sailed in L shaped aft cabin on Glory and other aft cabins on several ships. We really enjoyed them. Different view and larger balcony. I recommend trying this type of cabin.
