Using WC platinum dining voucher with someone who is not a platinum member

I am wondering how to dining voucher works for platinum members (have been one for years but never used it before), and I would like to dine in the verandah with my partner who is only a silver member. Would this be possible without an added charge? 
 

or if not possible, would he be able to use one of my grandparents platinum grading to attend instead of them? Understand this is very unlikely, just wondering if any all possible! 
 

also wondering how it works for the wine tasting as well?

I am not sure Platinum WC members receive a dining voucher: this always used to be the preserve of Diamond members only. In the past when I have been on ship with a family member who is not Diamond, my free voucher in the Verandah was honoured but the second person paid for.

The wine tasting event has an invitation sent (now a letter awaits in room), but really, it is no great shakes! 
The WC perks are in definite need of a revamp!

LadyL is quite correct, it is a Diamond club perk, it can be used in full for one passenger to have lunch in the verandah, or dinner with an extra supplement or for one dinner in the alternate dining. If more than one person is dining the other diners whoa re not diamond are on their own.

 

I agree that it's time for a revamp.....especially the internet portion of the perks!

Sorry getting mixed up, meant Diamond! Myself and grandparents are all diamond big never used the perk, and my boyfriend is a silver. I would like to go with my boyfriend but my grandparents are not fussed so had said they could use there’s, but I didn’t think that would be allowed

We went a few times with Diamond friends before we attained the lofty heights ourselves, and just paid our own way.

This happened to me and hubby when he made it to Diamond a voyage ahead of me! We just paid for my lunch and he used his voucher on that occasion.  
 

However on a voyage about 5 years ago on QV we had taken some friends with us who had never cruised before.  We spoke to the maitre d’ and discreetly asked whether we could gift them our diamond lunch vouchers to surprise them with a special lunch.  They very kindly booked lunch in using our names/stateroom number as if we would be dining there and we simply escorted our friends to the restaurant for lunch and left them there to effectively use our vouchers.  As I always say it’s worth asking, if the answer is no then you can always pay for lunch for your boyfriend and still enjoy that lovely lunch experience 😀. This of course assuming your grandparents are on the same voyage - if not then that definitely won’t work!

 

On wine tasting, we haven’t had that for a while but I think the last time I can remember there was a ticket with our names on it in our stateroom that we handed over at the entrance to the Britannia restaurant where they were holding the wine tasting.  If that’s still the how they are operating and if your grandparents are travelling on the same voyage and aren’t using their vouchers, then your boyfriend could use one of theirs and hand it in as you join the wine tasting.  
 

And agree with the others comments here - the WC benefits are definitely due an overhaul!
