Depends on the ship...We were on the Meraviglia in February and had an aft balcony cabin that had xtra sleeping space for 2 in the form of bunk beds.  There was a curtain separating the main cabin from the beds.  The storage space on most of the regular cabins is limited, but we used the extra space in our cabin for anything that wouldn't fit anywhere else.  The cabin was also a bit wider, with a nice balcony.
