Why Waterland Terminal in Amsterdam when we're the only ship in port?

Recommended Posts

We're embarking from Amsterdam on the HAL Rotterdam on July 1.  The Cruise Port Amsterdam web site shows us as the only ship in port that day (as does cruisetimetables.com), yet Cruise Port Amsterdam shows us at the Waterland Terminal.  I was curious about why this would be the case with no other ships in port, since I've read that Waterland is only used for overflow.   Anyone know?

Thanks, and thanks also for any advice about getting to the ship.

Thanks Ine.

Will a taxi be a good way to get to the ship?

Yes taxi or Uber are the best. Public transport is more complicated to that terminal.

Thanks again, Ine.   It did look to me from my research that public transportation wasn't a good option, I appreciate your confirming that.

It can be construction or maybe some event at the regular cruise terminal. You can send them an email with your question. info@cruiseportamsterdam.com

@Ine thanks so much for the suggestion to email them.  I did so, and they've just replied that showing the Rotterdam docked at Waterland was a "typo" on their cruise calendar, and that the Rotterdam will be docking at the Main Cruise Terminal!   (And they've corrected the calendar on their web site.)

Thanks again, @Ine   Very good news!
